Case Study: Charlotte Tilbury

The challenge
I spent just over a year at Charlotte Tilbury as Lead UI Designer on a major replatform project for thier retail e-com sites.
The major challenges here where keeping the design on brand without compromising useability and accessibility.

The Project

Reporting directy to the e-commerce director it was great to be working on the frontline at this dynamic fire-brand. The brief was to redesign and rebuild the entire platform, for me that meant a lot of time working on userflows and wireframes through to high fidelty designs for the product pages as well as basket, checkout, homepages and offers pages.

Adopting the recommendations from the findings of our own UX research along the way, refining and tweaking the designs for ultimate sign off from the company directors and Charlotte herself. Finally preparing dev handover documentation.

The Process

I worked between the e-com, marketing, creative and dev teams, liasing closely with each and the project manager to deliver under some very tight deadlines.

Working closely with another UX Designer we explored and tested many wireframe designs, some of these we built into clickable prototypes and took into store to test on customers.

After refinement and iteration the inital designs were ready for build. This was to be a phased launch meaning different parts of the site went live over a period of a few months, this was to help with trouble shooting and to minimise the impact on regular site users.
